Growing Guides

The Fennell and Fern blog is a visual feast – full of sumptuous photographs and stylish design. So I was delighted to see that their beautiful vegetable growing guides are printed out and ready to go. Each card has two guides on it, and they are easy to read and wipe-clean so you can have them on-hand in your allotment or plot. Definitely more practical than lugging around a hardback book with more information that you could possibly sythensise! Check them out here: Growing Guides.

These installations are by Belgian artist Wannes Goetschalckx, who incorporates performance, photography and sculpture into his shows. Here he takes natural motifs and materials and builds them in a traditional gallery space. The result is inspiring and unique. Indoor gardens for all!

It’s designed and printed in the UK by a wonderfully talented designer who is kind enough to let us sell them in our shop. So if you’d like one head over here and place your order!

Best trees for autumn colour

2 Comments 17 November 2009

We love autumn; wrapped up warm in our new scarfs and gloves, kicking about in the fallen leaves.   We’ve been talking about our favourite trees for autumn colour here in the office, and we just can’t agree.

Alice loves the vibrant colour and star shaped leaves of Liquidamber (seen above – apparently Liquidamber ‘Festival’ is the one to go for), Oli is a traditionalist and likes a classic Japanese Acer, but I’m rather partial to the Katsura tree (it’s leaves smell of candyfloss as they fall – how cool is that!).

It seems the only way to settle it is with a conker fight.
