Grass Wallpaper

I just came across this tutorial from Australian vertical garden company Lushe. The process involves stripping the walls down and covering with a thin layer of moist clay, into which seeds are pressed. Unfortunately grass doesn’t make a good vertical wall solution since air circulation is prohibited by the densely packed blades. It is however a stunning temporary display.

The image above is one part of an installation by artists Ackroyd and Harvey who have been creating grass walls since the 90s. Most famously they have created portraits using grass in various stages of life for its colour variations, much like a paint.

Outside In: Wheatgrass

I am admittedly quite obsessed with grass. I’m picturing undulating fields, Mexican-waves of luscious green blades as I type. I’m longing to bring a little inside, in a gorgeous white planter, to pet when I’m feeling stressed. I’ve been looking around and have decided that wheatgrass is my kind of greenery. Will it inspire me to drink healthy wheatgrass juice on a daily basis? Only if everybody else in the office joins in.

So what to buy? Brow Farm Wheat Products and Naturally Green sell starter kits so you can grow from seed. Any comments from experienced growers would be much appreciated.
